When I felt embarressed the most being big

There where a couple of times that I wanted to just sit down and cry or did go home a cry due to being embarrassed about my weight.

Anyways I have two times that I will never forget and it keeps me inspired to keep the weight off.

#1: Nolan was about 7 months old and I went home to see some old friends, left Nolan with my parents and went out with a couple of friends. I am from such a small town when you go out everyone and there moms are out. You can not go to Wal-Mart without seeing 3 people you know.

Let me remind you it was such a small town everyone including the people that I no longer keep in touch with new that I was pregnant and that I had a baby.

We were out and I was talking and making my rounds with people, when I came across not a mean guy but a really sweet guy from high school when he look down patted my belly and asked how far along I was now! :O What do you say to that?

I replied no he is 7 months old now and I mean this guys face turned red and could not stop saying he was sorry, which in a way made it 10 times worse. Yep I went home a cried... All my friends were just saying its ok Erica you just had a baby, ummm no I had a baby 7 months ago. It is not ok to still look pregnant that long after you have a baby, that is not baby weight anymore that is just over weight. In my opinion.

#2: This story is not as long but still so embarrassing. I was ready to get out of my maternity pants that I have been wearing for a good 4 months. So I walked into Express (where I got my last pare of pant form) I went up to the desk and asked the lady where I could get a size 12 long and she replied we do not sale that size anymore...

yep went home and cried how embarrassing, the store does not even sale your size!

Now these story's are just some of the things that I went through and they are not that bad compared to others. If you have a story that you feel like needs to be shared, you can e-mail me at ericabodker@gmail.com and I can post it for you, sometimes it is nice to know that you are not the only person that goes thorough things like that and help people understand that they need to think before they talk.

Sorry kid, your mom doesn't play well with others said...

I know you have heard this before but really listen. Do not let someone ever make you feel less than you are, ever. Walk into a room and own that place even if you feel like you are three months behind on your parking space. You own the town.Just do it. No matter your size the thing people will remember is your confidence and attitude. So what if you could use to he'd some pounds, it's your journey not theirs. Don't let society choose your path be healthy and most of all just be you. People have two choices, take it or leave it. It is their choice to see and not your problem if their eyes are closed.

I understand, but that was then and things are different now. I am a stronger more confident woman now. I just wanted to share some of my story that led me to where I am now.

Ugh! Those moments are devastating. I gained a huge amount of weight in college and a guy friend said to me once during my senior year, you know, we all thought you were so pretty, it's too bad you got so fat. What??? Ouch! Oh, well. Just makes me more sensitive to other's situations and makes me a stronger person! Thanks for sharing!

Hi Erica! I have struggled with weight as well but don't remember any embarrassing stories. I just remember my mom giving me a hard time and maybe that was good or bad. I'm not really sure. I'm a new follower from the hump day hop. If you like photography you should check my blog out. www.esthernorinedesigns.blogspot.com

Your graphic at the bottom ("Life begins . . .") really hit me today. I am shy, but tonight I am going to a social event where I will know NOBODY. It's for a good cause. If I can accomplish my goal, I will feel really good about it. In the meantime, I am trying to not freak out, not talk myself out of it.
